UNDER CONSTRUCTION

Sorry we haven't posted in FOREVER. This summer we packed up our belongings and moved, started new jobs and a new school. Grace and I promise to be back on sometime soon. Right now we're just trying to get adjusted to our new home and life. We have LOTS to do here in our new home, so we're under contruction.

Grace now goes to a Christian school which is such a blessing to us. Please pray for her as she makes new friends and gets adjusted to new curriculums and teachers. And that's just the tip of the iceberg!

So...look for an updated blog coming soon....or sometime soon....we hope...if all goes well.

A new year - Welcome 2010

I haven't been on here in quite awhile. We've had a lot of things that we were working through in the fall namely realizing that Tim's time at MVNU was coming to an end. We were blessed with offers from several other institutions and knew God was paving the way for a move. In December Tim resigned his position here and on January 4 he began his new position at Ohio Christian University. We decided that it would be best to allow Grace to finish 4th grade here, so we will not move until summer time (or thereabouts).

Last Thursday I met with the realtor to begin the process of putting our house on the market. I've also begun to look at the market there. It's never easy moving. This is the 5th move I'll make since Tim and I have been married. Packing and unpacking boxes is about the least fun thing I can think about. However, having an adventure as God leads you to new places is always exciting and we are very much looking forward to whatever it is that He has in store for us.

I continue to think of Romans 8:28: "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." We are trusting and believing His word to be true. It should be an interesting ride!

Vote for Grace

Yesterday Grace announced to me that she will be running for student council. Three people will be chosen from her class. So, last night we made a poster that she can hang in her room. Her slogan...

A Vote 4 Grace will put a Smile on your Face!!!
She's so excited and asked me if I would take her to get ice cream if she won. I told her yes and that I would take her even if she doesn't win. She'll be working on her speech tonight and giving it to the class tomorrow. Can I just tell you how proud I am of my precious no-so-little-anymore girl? If I haven't told you about Grace before, let me take a moment to do so now.
  • Grace has amazing creativity and a wonderful imagination.
  • She has written several books in her 9 years and I must say I have no doubt that writing will be her career.
  • Because she's an only child she LOVES to be with other kids.
  • Loves being outdoors and loves adventure of any kind.
  • She's not quite as gregarious as me, but once she gets to know you, she can talk your leg off.
  • I can't count the number of times I've heard, "Mama, let's pretent..."
  • She is smart and beautiful...if I do say so myself.
  • Most of all at the tender age of three she gave her heart to Jesus on a trip home from my parents.
  • My mom reminded me of an incident that happened when she was about 4. After getting in trouble, I made her go to her room and sit on her bed. After a few minutes I peaked through the door to find her sitting there singing, "I cast all my cares upon you. I lay all of my burdens down at your feet. And anytime, I don't know, whaaat to do, I will cast all my cares upon you." Warmed my heart and gave me quite a laugh.
  • This past spring we got to take Grace on her first missions trip to Orlando. We had to get up at 3:30 am to go to a church in downtown Orlando to feed the homeless. I will never ever forget the picture of Grace serving these wonderful people a plate of food. Nate Porter...thank you!
  • Once we returned from the trip, I heard her in the bath tub one night singing a song she had made up about the homeless. I can't remember the words exactly but I remember her using words like "hero" and "brave". I knew at that moment she had got it.

That's my Grace. God's most precious gift to me.

Good luck Grace!

Ya'll...I don't even know if anyone visits my blog these days. I just don't have the time to post very often, so there's not much to read. However, it gives me a place to keep my thoughts when something does happen to pop into my brain and I find time to get it out. God is doing so much in my life right now. He's so good and trustworthy. I so love being His child. However, there are those moments where I just need to be reminded that His purpose for me far exceeds anything I could think of myself. I just found the following that someone posted as a response on the Beth Moore blog. It couldn't be more appropriate for me today.

Trust in HIS timing...
Rely on HIS promises...
Wait for HIS answers...
Believe in HIS miracles...
Rejoice in HIS goodness...
Relax in HIS presence.

Amen!

My memory verse for Aug. 15 was from Isaiah 43:1b.

Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.

For Aug. 1 it was Psalm 57:2.

I cry out to God Most High, to God, who fulfills His purpose for me.

July 15... 2 Corinthians 1:10

He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and He will deliver us. On Him we have set our hope that He will continue to deliver us.

So, He will deliver me because He has a purpose for me because I am His! Love it!!

Blessings,
Kimberly
